The 12th European Conference on Language Learning (ECLL24), University of London

The 12th European Conference on Language Learning (ECLL2024) is an interdisciplinary conference. It explores new multifaceted approaches to one of the core issues of our time, namely globalisation and its many forms of growth and expansion. Himalayan Language Symposium (June 2024)

The Himalayan Languages Symposium is an annually convening, open scholarly forum for scholars of Himalayan languages. It encompasses topics in theoretical as well as applied linguistics. This international conference was hosted by IIT Guwahati from June 12-14, 2024.

Ms. Nilanjana Chowdhury, one of our research scholars, was selected for an oral presentation on “Exploring Dominance through Picture – Word Matching: A longitudinal analysis of Language Dominance in Young Adults”.

Visual Language Conference (VisLang’24), Tilburg University, Netherlands (June, 2024)

The last two decades have seen an increasing focus on Growing work has applied theories and empirical methods from the linguistic and cognitive sciences to the study of visual and multimodal communication. The Visual Language Conference (VisLang) at Tilburg University aimed to bring together scholars focused on visual and multimodal media, particularly comics, emoji, and memes both in society and in scholarship issues to further work towards establishing a community around this research.

45th International Conference of the Linguistic Society of India (November, 2023)

Since 1970, Linguistic Society of India (LSI) has been organizing an annual conference every year in collaboration with various Institutions to showcase current research in linguistics, foster discussion amongst its members through the presentation of peer-reviewed research, plenary sessions and scientific sessions. The 45th edition of the conference was hosted by the Department of Linguistics at Aligarh Muslim University.

Ms. Taznin Hussain, Ms. Shalu Kumari, and Ms. Koyel Mukherjee presented papers on their research work in the conference.

Next – Gen AI : Inspiration from Brain Science, IIT Jodhpur (January, 2023)

Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur conducted NAiBS-2023 international conference from 26th to 28th January 2023. The conference aimed at bringing together researchers across domains for discussions on the common goal of designing AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) systems – drawing inspiration from individual sensorimotor computations leading to multimodal processes in the human brain. The conference also envisioned being of interest to a vibrant network of early-career scholars engaged in the transdisciplinary inquiry on the origins, nature, and future of human and artificial intelligence. The conference was sponsored by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB).
